It depends... how do you normally ask people out? I mean, you can offer something friendly, something romantic... It all depends. People are different all over. It depends on the girl's personality.
What I would suggest is getting to know someone, and then inviting them to do something as a couple that you both enjoy. Say you both like a certain kind of a music. Go to a band or just go listen to the CDs at your place.

You could try throwing Yourself at Her feet, begging and pleading with Her to show You a morsel of compassion. You could pledge Your eternal and unwavering love, and then, clutching a dagger to Your breast, demand that She kiss You farewell..........Or You could just send Her a note asking Her if She would like to go out with the person standing in front of the fire escape (you pick location) and then be there.
Personally I would go with option number 2.

Do you know her to be a lesbian?
If so, try a group date if you're nervous. Ask her to go out w/ you and your friends (unless your friends are REALLY hot lol).
If you don't know if she's a lesbian, that's a bit more tricky. You gotta put your feelers out and assess the situation first...

It easy. I'm not saying you can do this with a total stranger either. But if their is someone your interested in you know talk with them for a while after being their friend and finding out if their with someone or not then ask them out.

Dude.....the person who asked the question asked it in a "Gay, lesbian, Bi, etc... forum. they don't know who is going to answer it or who specifically they are asking!! lmfao!! just go up to her make a little small talk, ask for her number then ask if she has any plans, if she says no ask her if she wants to go out with you

Just like you would anybody who you are interested in. Get to know them. Laugh at their jokes, seem interested in them, their life, their work, etc.
Just be yourself, and you'll be fine.

It is strange that a lesbian is asking heterosexual people about asking out another lesbian. We who are heterosexual wouldn't have a clue.
