You should spend the extra money and buy a carbon fiber helmet.They are light weight and thin so the wind doesn't catch them and jerk your head around but are really hard so you won't crack your skull, Cheap is not the way to go.

Are you nuts? Seriously? You are willing to spend thousands on your bike but want to save on protecting your head? Been riding for years. Spend the money on the brain bucket.

Why bother?
Seriously, why bother? If you're not going to actually PROTECT yourself, what's the point? Just duct tape a paper plate onto your head and call it good, since that's all you want anyway.
