The Kinks played rock and roll better than the Beatles. So did the Who, the Yardbirds, and probably others. The Beatles SANG rock and roll better than most people, but not better than Chuck Berry or Little Richard. The Beatle's best music was not really rock and roll, and I would say the same of Led Zeppelin for that matter. This is a fun question but I don't think it can really be answered with a one-band, simple answer.

There's is no one band which is the greatest. There is of course Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Stones, Queen, Aerosmith... but what about The Doors, how many bands have been inspired by Nirvana and all the other Seattle bands, Tool/Perfect Circle are big inspirations for younger bands or typical Britpop bands like Blur or Oasis. There is no greatest, but a lot great bands.

There is no best band. Its just what you prefer! I like British bands like The Smiths. I also like Kinks. Though as far as being creative and influential you could go with more wll known bands like the Beatles, Rolling Stones, Tho Who, and Led Zeppelin. Best band? Thats is seriously a question no one can answer, but you! Though i doubt many would say Three Days Grace....

Gotta go with the Eagles. Not sure if they qualify genre-wise but they have a lot of talent in that group: Joe Walsh, Glen Frey, Don Henley all solo artist in their own right.

Oh BTW, they also have the best selling album in the US (Greatest Hits 1971-1975). Yes, more copies sold than 'Thriller'. Not bad for a band that started out as backup for Linda Ronstat.

I would say The Beatles. They started everything. There music was great and they were geniuses. They started almost all types of Rock N' Roll and are still known as the best band ever today. The Beatles are the best rock band ever. Next comes QUEEN.

There is no "best" rock n roll band. It's all a matter of opinion. That's like saying someone is the "best" guitar player or drummer. There is no best, there is always someone better. It's a matter of personal preference
