I have a toshiba laptop and the fan is really noisey, even when the laptop isn't really using much processor power. How can i make it quieter?

If you have a fan facing you while you work on your laptop, you can actually turn off the internal fan since the other fan can already prevent your laptop from over-heating. I believe you can change the settings through one of the pre-installed toshiba software

Replace it (the fan). Sometimes the bearings go bad in those cheap cpu cooler fans. I just replaced the cpu cooler on a desktop, it cost something around $20 to get the part directly from Dell.

Set your power theme to portable/laptop if it's not set like that, try CPU Eat 'n Cool, it will make your computer slower but it'd be making your fan (scream) less

buy a fan part that attaches to the bottom

try spraying it with the air in a can. this will take any dust off and it may run quiet.
