The original Becky ( Lecy Goranson) wanted to go to school, she did return for one more season after Sarah Chalke took over the role. and they played it up perfectly, when Becky # 1 walked in after being gone, Roseanne asked her where she'd been, seems like you've been gone for 3 years.. BIG LAUGHS..
and at the end of the episode, both lecy and sarah did a spoof ending of the Patty Duke Show.

The original Becky never came back. She quit and was replaced by a different actress, Sarah Chalke (she now stars on Scrubs).
