In all likelihood, one of the conservative groups (RedState.org, Heritage Foundation, Rush's radio show, etc.) circulated a mass e-mail telling subscribers to get riled up about abortion. Maybe there's another Supreme Court case on the way, I don't know. Or it's like BlueRidgeLiving and others are saying: just time for these groups to drive us to distraction.

But the organized conservative groups circulate these Stepford Wives talking points for the minions to follow and to post.

How long have there been pregnancies?
That's how long there have been abortions, too.
You or I or we or they are NEVER going to alter that FACT.

The right brings up this issue to DETRACT from the hundreds of vitally important issues which actually need debating, which actually impact our lives, which we actually have some hope of having some influence over.

Like the nine trillion dollar debt, like the environmental disaster we're creating and living in, like the level of education for the Average American plummeting, like all the good jobs being shipped overseas, like the number of Americans living in poverty going up, up, up every day, like bush dismembering the Constitution.

So, let's talk about abortion instead.

It lets you know the ones who call themselves "Pro-Life" (even though they are actually "Anti-Choice", aren't asking their silly questions to promote a better understanding of what they consider to be a crime. It isn't that at all.

It's about what it has ALWAYS been about. Control of a female's reproductive organs and, by extention, control of the female. By politicizing their issue, they invalidate it. It lets you know they care nothing about the life or rights of an unborn fetus, or that devotion would cause them, if they think consistently, to protest ANY war or natural disaster or accident which takes a life. They would be all over adoption agencies and orphanages to adopt these poor unwanted children. They would push their leaders to provide these children with world class education, nourishing food, and a nurturiung sheltering societal environment.

What we HAVE are, unwanted, abused babies going to public schools with metal detectors, being fed cheap fattening food causing these SAME "precious lives" to be cut short due to obesity and diabetes, etc... No consistency, so we have to logically conclude their interest is NOT actually in the lives of these children.

How many anti-choice people are also pro-death penalty? What? The fetus in its 96th trimester doesn't have any right to life all of a sudden?

Oh well, back to Politics....

It's an easy tactic to get votes for a politician, even though it's an issue that belongs in the hands of medical ethicists, doctors, and women of child bearing age.

Legality or illegality of the procedure is not going to stop it from happening, so both sides should concentrate on prevention.

Instead of pulling in all the donations into educating people to avoid pregnancy to bring unwanted children into our nation to be a pain-in-the-*** for the US to create ridiculous population explosion through unwelcomed babies for sucking away welfare benefits and tax dollars, all these anti-abotion activists are just wasting away precious dollar contributions to help bring unwanted babies into the U.S. to deplete our resources. Remember that not every unwanted baby saved gets adopted. Live up to facts: Any unwanted and unadopted baby feeding on American tax dollars is stealing away benefits that could help deserving American children bring a better tomorrow for America. Someone ought to research into the drain of American resources and wealth that are being drained out to cope with those unwanted and unadopted babies saved! It would be interesting to know how many of these unwanted babies are being shifted from foster home to foster home - and being abused too - under the care of our tax dollars!

If an embryo is deemed to be human at conception, are the anti-abortion activists going to crucify God for miscarriages???

my favorite ones are like do you know abortion kills the baby. duh its an abortion. I saw the abortion video in 9thgrade and abortions weren't as brutal as the Christ tards make it out to seem. And why is it always that a dude is on here trying to preach about it when it's a womans choice.Typical crazy christians trying to preach their losing cause. They just need to give it up. Go try out your preaching on a real live audience priest in training.

Many people vote for candidates according to their beliefs regarding abortion, and I think that that is just reflected in this section.

I think its funny. They don't get that there fight is lost. They will never see the day abortion is illegal again. They should move on to there next favorite thing to fight for and that is trying to eliminate all programs that could help those children that are here.
