A terminatating decimal is a rational number, whereas the decimal of this number ends.
For instance, 2.5.
2.5 The decimal of 2.5 is only at the tenth place and stops there.
1/6 is actually an irrational number because the decimal place goes on and on.
1.666666... The 6's keeps going.
Irational numbers are also sometimes called trandescental numbers.

Example

1/2 = 0.5

3/4 = 0.75

3/5 = 0.6

Example:

The dots after the decimal means it goes on to infinity.

it means the decimal keeps going on like. 3.33333333333333333333333333333333333 and keeps on going. usually it has a line over the number that keeps on repeating .33 in this would have a line over. i dont noe how to put the line on the computer.

Terminating means it has an end like 2.5 or 10.90

nonterminating means it has no end like pi 3.14159...(keeps going forver)
