When the main concern of the aspiring Repubs was the fact that John Kerry actually went to and GW chose not to (yea he could have volunteered)-Karl Rove replied don't worry "no good deed goes unpunished." As much as I disdain the neo-con chickenhawks-they know how to win.

Anyone could have taken Kerry out with the natural argument against him. It was a obvious weakness for Kerry in his denouncement of Vietnam. Anyone could have told him, or the rest of the Dem's that attack was coming without much thought involved at all.

Karl Rove is neither a genius, nor a master manipulator. He is just a man who did his job.

If you think that was bad wait till the Rep's get done with Obama if he is the Dem candidate. They will eat him alive and it is plainly obvious before the fact (I am sure Dems will feign shock however as they did with Kerry)....and I am sure they will come up with some "Karl Rove did it" theory.

People need to use that brain in their heads when they pick their candidates if they wish to win. The Dem's worst enemy is themselves, not the Republicans, nor Karl Rove.

Oh absolutely. Karl Rove is a bastard, but hes one hell of a smart bastard and as you said, he knows what to do to win. Completely ruthless and with no scruples whatsoever, but you cant call him stupid.

Keep in mind that in politics, nothing happens by accident. When something happens, you can be certain someone planned it that way. From the very start of Bush's first campaign, everything that was an advantage to Bush almost certainly had Rove behind it. From the McCain "secret black baby" rumor to everything Bush campaigned on. Rove is a very smart man and very good at what he does.

if so, he out "Roved" himself. The Foley situation has been disastrous to the Republicans. Bush had in basic terms gotten a bump interior the polls together with his modern terrorism and conflict rhetoric and then this fiasco. Rove may be a genius however the philosophy he backs is morally bankrupt.

Karl Rove is not a genius. He is however very good at what he does. I encourage all to read the book, :
'Bush's Brain." The reason Rove is so good at what he does is that he is very meticulous. He leaves no stone unturned. That combined with his tutelage under the late Lee Atwater, makes him an undeniable force to be reckoned with.

And thats exactly what they did----punished a VET

John Kerry went to Nam and was decorated as a HERO.

George Bush's hit squad came up with some Neo-Cons that tried to besmeerch John Kerry in the Swift Boat Ads
What kind of shameful treatment is that towards a VET.
George W Bush went A W O L for christs's sake
NOT ONE PERSON could stand and say he seen George Bush at the Nat'l Gaurd while he was supposed to be there.
NOT ONE !!!!

The Swift Boat Ad's were totally debunked and one of the people claiming that John Kerry didn't deserve a medal for his part in a non-skrimish
YET HE RECIEVED A MEDAL TOO !!! (for same inncodent)

John Kerry defeated John Kerry. There is film footage of his appearance before a congressional committee in the 1970's perjuring himself.
His perjuries:
Kerry claimed to have witnessed atrocities that did not happen
Kerry claims he went on secret missions to Cambodia which were proved false.
There is news film footage of him throwing his medals over the White House fence (actually they were somebody Else
his medals are in a shadow box on his senatorial office.)

He tried to portray himself as a war hero and supporter of the military when his words and deeds said otherwise. "I voted for it before I voted against it" did not help his cause. Rove a genius or no genius the democrats beat themselves by putting up as their candidate Kerry without researching his past and as VP Edwards who was not even reelected in his home state.

Evil wins sometimes. I put Rove in the same class as Josef Goebels. Rove told Ohio Christians that Kerry would take away their bibles if he won, and they were stupid enough to believe it. The country will either fix this problem and have a chance of continuing, or it will let this evil continue to prosper and it will fall.

I can just hope Americans have learned a valuable lesson
about falling for Pure Evil.
There's a reason why no one has ever seen Mien Rove
give an interview.

Considering that Bush spent every penny of political capital he had within 6 months of being re-elected, I would ultimately say, no.

Yes, he did a great hatchet job on Kerry, but failed miserably on several other fronts including Terry Schiavo, Social Security Privitization, Immigration reform, etc.
