There is one simple explanation for the "hurry" effect. The republican party has told our president that he has improve the overall approval rating of the party with someone. If he can please the latin american community of this country and other illegals, he will have a large contigent of new voters that will appreciate what the "republican" president did for them.

It is important I just think the president has to go through the motions or his slim political push for anything else will be doomed. I think he was hoping that if he went with the lead Dems on this they would give on an issue vital to his constituency. He should learn from his father though. When he gave in on the Read my lips no new taxes thinking that Dems were serious about cutting the budget he was burned because the Dems did nothing to cut the budget as he thought they would they in fact increased it.

don't worry about me giving up. ive been on the phone, emailing ,faxing, and talking to everyone to keep the pressure on our senate to keep this bill off the table. I swear there will be a huge backlash in this country if this same bill makes it through the senate!

I thought this thing was dead until I heard the president say, ''I'll see you at the bill signing.'' The president is trying to do everything he can to lose whatever little support he had left.

I used your link. I then went to the individual senator's web page and sent them each another.

Bush doesn't listen to anyone especially his own Republicans. He has fired more Republicans during his reign than any other President to date. Heckova job Brownie, clean your desk. Heckova job Colin, clean your desk. Heckova job Foley, clean your desk, and so on, and so on.

I have voiced my support for the bill. As have some of my colleagues. My representation has told me he has had more calls calling for support then calls against. He also assured me that he will vote for the bill.
