I just saw on the internet today that you can get sefari for Windows Computers, which i'm using now and really enjoy. Do you think we should have the option to have Mac OS as our OS on a windows based computer?

If you had OS X on your current computer, then it would not be a Windows based computer - it would be a Mac OS based computer.

If your question is "Should Dell (or any other brand) offer OS X as an alternative to Windows on new systems?" then the answer is "No".

Windows, and especially OS X are designed to work with specific hardware and specifications. Even though you and boot to WIndows on a Mac (with boot camp) or even run Windows on a Mac (with Parralels or VMWare) it is not 100%.

Would it be nice to be able to dual boot a PC (not Mac) into either OS X or Windows? Or run VMWare in Windows to access OS X? Sure why not?

BTW - you can already run OS X on a PC - not officially though.

No. It's Apple's closed system that makes Mac OS X work so well. Since they design both the hardware and software, they can assure that the end experience is painless. Macs are excellent machines of higher quality than most PCs and built for Mac OS X. Yeah, it would be great if everyone could use Mac OS X, but only if everyone bought a Mac.

Whoops, sorry guy above me, I meant to give you the thumbs up for saying exactly what I said.

Mac OS X is an operating system.
Windows is an operating system.

How can you have OS X on Windows, except in a virtual machine?

To above: Yes, I *know* you can run OS X on a PC. Try giving useful links like:

But that wasn't the question, was it? They asked to run Mac on Windows. Try reading first.

For the millionth time, OS X only runs on MAC hardware, LEGALLY. x86 assumes you have a legal copy of Intel OS X.

But OS X (Intel only) can run Windows, if you own a full Version, using Boot Camp or Parallels ($).

Personally, I think that would cause all kinds of trouble. Limiting the OS to specific hardware makes it much easier to keep it secure and guarantee the functionality. Windows users have all kinds of problems because there are so many different combinations of hardware, and to handle them all the OS has become bloated. It is much better the way it is.
