Sorry, I asked once before, but I'm re-asking cause I didnt make the first question clear enough...sorry =S

I'm going to a resort for a week with a group of friends. I know that I'm supposed to get my period one of these days, but I'm not exactly sure when. While on the trip, we're going to a LAKE, and we're not supposed to bring anything other than a towel. There's going to be guys AND girls, so it would be kind of akward if I got my period. Also, there is only one bathroom, and you have to walk through something like a forest to get there. Sooo, if we go swimming, can I wear a tampon even if my period hasn't started...but to have it just in case it does while I'm in my bathing suit? Especially since I can't bring a bag w/me? Or what else can I do? Help!

It's not safe to wear a tampon when you aren't menstruating because the cotton can be toxic. Hence, Toxic Shock Syndrome. I wouldn't suggest wearing one-you are just going to have to find a creative way to hide a tampon somewhere. Sew a pocket into your towel. Use loose stiches, so you can easily break it, in case of emergency. I don't know what else to tell ya. =) Good Luck

first and foremost / bring /a small plastic bag with tampons in them / bring a second bag for used tampons / if nothing else they have them Ziploc baggies / use them / if need be / go behind a tree /and change tampon / wrap up in towel / no one will be the wiser / when towel is laid out /put stuff under towel / the ideas r long / choose what suits u / good luck / and enjoy

You really shouldn't because of TSS.

You also shouldn't have it in longer than 8 hours.

Put some tampons in your pockets when you go to the lake.

Why can't you bring a bag with you?

Its the same as wearing a tampon when you are on your period: as long as you don't wear the tampon for a long time, you'll be fine.

I have been having periods for over 16 years and I often use that tactic to "catch it" before it catches me!

Just be sure to remove it and switch to a pantyliner when you are back in your street clothes to avoid TSS. I've never had it and have never known anyone to have it - but you don't want to risk it!!!!

You can't bring a bag?!
Wow.
Well, You could always wear some shorts over you swimsuit and stick some tampons in [pockets] to be safe.
You might want to wear one too.

I would not suggest it due to medical reasons, it simply is not clean or healthy to wear one when it is not your time of the month. Perhaps they can make an exception, or you could slip a small one (like O.B.) into the pocket of your shorts or something. I hope you have a great trip, with no unexpected surprises!

in basic terms placed on a tampon and you'd be superb. do no longer issue. do no longer placed on a pad, it is going to swell up from the water, or come loose, or probably even crumple. after all, it won't artwork.

you can wear one I did on my wedding day because I just knew I would start that day! and thank God I did! but the only thing about using when you are not bleeding is that it may be dry and harder to pull out. Have fun on your trip.

Don't wear one if you're not on your period. That's not exactly good for your vagina. Wait until you feel the period symptoms.
