For the same reason that book publishers aren't afraid to have a Chapter 13 and builders are not afraid to have a 11th floor.

I dont know about the whole "Chapter 11" thing but builders never build the thirteenth floor of a building because it is said that the thirteenth floor will be haunted. It's an old superstition.

Apparently 13 is a bad luck number. The apartment building I live in, there is no 13 or number 4 anywhere. The builder was chinese, and 4 is a bad luck number for them.

As Mitch Hedburg once said, "What room are you in? "1401" No you're not! Jump out the window and you will die EARLIER!"

OMG that is the funniest question I've seen in a long time! Good one... I guess the bankruptcy judge should "throw the book at them!"
