ok- i dont agree with killing babies.. and if you are going to have sex with someone, you should be ready to face the consequences... at least just give birth to it, and if you can't handle raising a baby, put it in a place it is wanted.

so- isn't the morning-after-pill doing like the same thing.. killing an unwanted child?? BUT if it is a rape, i would tell them to do the pill, instead of the other abortion process...if thats what they choose to do. In the end, i think it is really the girls choice, but i just dont think its right.

we were talking about birth control in my health class the other day, and i just starting thinking about that...

what do you guys think??

I am glad to see that your health class got you thinking. Birth control is a good thing. The morning after pill is birth control it is not an abortion pill. It prevents pregnancy from occurring. The abortion pill will prevent a fertilized egg from implanting in the uterus thereby ending the pregnancy.
You are basically pro-choice. But, you and lot of the rest of us feel that the choice should be proper birth control not abortion. If you cannot or will not use birth control than you should be prepared to be pregnant and to give birth. Either to raise the child or to give it up for adoption. Abortion should not be a method of birth control.
Abortion should be considered if the life of the mother is in danger. If the woman is a victim of rape or incest than the abortion pill should be used promptly so that an abortion is not necessary. The only other reason for abortion should be if the child will be born with defects that will totally prevent a normal life.
That is how I feel. It will be interesting to read what others have to say.

My opinion is that in the case of rape or incest, abortion is an option. Although adoption may be a better one. Otherwise the only reason would be for the health of the mom, and I mean if it is life threatening. There is so much birth control available that there is no reason for abortion on demand. And if you are willing to have sex, you should be responsible if you get pregnant, and I don't believe that means killing the baby. The morning after pill, if taken right away will keep the egg from being fertilized, and if not it does abort the baby right away. I believe it should only be used in the case of rape.

I think its different for every women. If your not ready to have a baby you should do everything possible to prevent it from happening, but lets face the facts **** happens and you have to do what you think is best, yeah I think abortion is killing a child but not everyone thinks like that, not even all doctors believe that its killing a child if done early enough. I know a girl who did everything right to not become pregnant, she was on birth control, they used a condom and she still got pregnant, so now she needs to think about what she's going to do, but she shouldn't been judge for her choice whatever it may be, because even if she decided to give the baby up for adoption that doesn't mean the baby will have a good life, what if the baby never gets a adopted, there's so many unwanted babies is adding to that growing number really better?

Well, fortunately I've never been in the position of needing an abortion but I come from a very strict religious family and if I had ended up pregnant as a young girl there would be no way I could continue the pregnancy, my parents would have disowned me. So, what I'm saying is that if I had been pregnant I would have had an abortion, it really would have been my only option.

Also, I don't think that when you first get pregnant the embryo is really considered a baby. It's just a bunch of cells multiplying at that point. There is a certain stage in pregnancy where I think it would be wrong to abort but in the first month or so I honestly don't think you're taking a life.

I also don't agree with killing babies, as babies are born, and not physically attached to another human for their continued existance.

An unborn human is NOT a baby, though. It is living IN and OFF OF the woman, and it should be HER choice to allow it to continue or to deny them use of her body!

"Facing the consequences" of an unexpected pregnancy can very well mean "choosing to abort". Pregnancy is not a crime, and children are not a punishment!

You forget (or just plain don't know) that it costs THOUSANDS of dollars to give birth, not including all of the prenatal care.

Though I support the choice of any woman to give her born child up for adoption, I would like to point out that the adoption system in the USA is horribly flawed. Most children end up growing up in the system, bouncing from foster home to foster home, or in an institution. Adoptive parents tend to be looking for healthy, white (usually male) newborns, and won't "settle" for an older, non-white child who might have special needs.

The morning-after pill is completely different from abortion. Abortion is the termination of a PREGNANCY. The morning-after pill just keeps a fertilized egg from implanting. It's no different from menstruating (many fertilized eggs never implant, and are just "flushed out").

I believe that an abortion is the ending of a human life. I believe that there are times when the law can justify that most terrible action. War , the death penalty , self defense to name a few. I think abortion on demand is wrong but I can allow for a few specific circumstances when it is sadly the right thing to do. I think that such a decision should be treated as what it is , the end of a life. Not just a convenience thing but subject to the rights of the unborn being considered. I do not hold the life of the unborn in higher regard than the mother.

Abortion is wrong under normal circumstances. The child did not ask to be conceived. If you are going to have sex, then you should have to handle all the consequences. It's not as if there aren't any other options. There are plenty of couples out there who can't have children of their own who would love to adopt a child. If someone is raped then I think that the morning after pill is a good idea. If they can't get that then I think that abortion should be an option for them because they did not choose to have sex.

I 100%disagree on abortion why kill an innocent baby? First of all, if you are going to have sex with someone use a condom, that way you don't face the consequences. If you have sex without a condom and your pregnant then you decide whether you want to keep it or not but no abortion..put it for adoption..Yes it's a girls choice but it's also your partners choice too, but if you get raped and you are pregnant, put it for adoption..If you are going to use birth control..use it wisely and talk to your mom about it. I hope I helped you

Abortion is just plain wrong!........ i belive it should be illegal, and i totally agree with u. If u r going to have s-e-x then u should be prepared for the consequences.,and even if u do get pregnant then u should at least give ur a baby a chance to live. when u abort, u r not only killing the baby, but u r actually doing damage to urself. That damage will cause u to not be able to have babies in the future, and when u really wanna have a baby , u wont be able to because of abortion. Girls. If u r ever in this situation, know that there r other options.............dont become a murderer because it will allways haunt u for the rest of ur life.

Ah yes, isn't so easy to make a cut and dry statement about someone's elses life? Adoption isn't a perfection solution either. The child who's adopted always wonders, why didn't my parents love me enough to keep me? Adopted kids also wonder about their medical history as well.

It' s so easy to tell a woman to have a child. Where are the "pro life" people when that woman needs diapers, formula and someone to babysit and can't afford any of the three? If you're going to tell a woman to have a baby, put your money where your mouth is and pitch in and help. Otherwise, keep your opinions to yourself.
