It's a scam I got the same e-mail.

First is there such a thing as the UK National Lottery?

Second, did you buy a ticket?

did you register for this on a site?

This is a scam, unless you specifically remember regestering for this, delete it.

If the government was running a national lottery, they sure would not be emailing you to notify you that you won.

The government has plenty of working phones to contact people with and they could always use snail mail (as in send a letter through the mail).

Why would they contact you through email? How did they get your email?

This is a scam - delete the email.

SCAM.....i used to work at a bank and people would always come in w/ this type of stuff and the checks were always fraudulent....but you can take it to your bank and have them call and verify the check!
