DVD movies have different languages, subtitles, deleted scenes, interviews and loads of other features. Here's an idea and I can't believe this hasn't been implemented. There are many good films that I am comfortable letting my kids watch except there are some curse words that I'd rather they not hear. So it would be really simple just to have a bad language suppress setting (or even just a bleep). I think this should be a standard feature on all DVD movies. What do you think?

Maybe they haven't thought of that yet. "The Nazi DVD Player. You will buy one! NOW!"

God forbid you actually sit your kids down and discuss with them yourself that some words that people say in movies are not appropriate in your home.

In any case, I cannot think of any movies that show characters just going about normal business that requires bad language. Usually the cussing comes with sex, violence, and crime, all things that if I did not want my kids to hear cussing I would also be upset about. Maybe they just shouldn't be watchign these types of movies at all, instead of the rest of the world having to change for your peace of mind?

Answers from "shaven llama" and "ramsass" are just idiotic.
You don't know me - so don't judge me.

Back to the subject: I am trying to suppress some bad language on my DVD. You say this is synonomous with nudity, blood & gore etc. Not always, there are some excellent movies rated R, PG13,or even PG movies with some bad language. My youngest daughter likes to be with her older sister and watch a DVD together. So all they can watch is G rated. With a language filter they could watch some suitable PG/PG13 movies.

How about you grow up and take some responsibility for your own parenting abilities? Don't entrust raising your children to someone else, do it yourself. If you don't want your children repeating what they hear, tell them. If they do, punish them appropriately. Hearing cuss words aren't going to traumatize your children unless you're so anal about shielding them from the real world that they have a total meltdown when someone says s-h-i-t.
Trust me, sheltering children isn't going to do them in any good in the long run-one day they will have to deal with the real world, and if you shelter them from it they won't know how to react to it.
