There is a lot of resentment around the world towards America. It has been my experience that most of them that resent America don't hate Americans per se. but they have a problem with our governments foreign policy. They tend to see us as getting involved in areas we shouldnt be involved in and trying to force our beliefs down their throat. I can understand that, but there are a lot of people in this world who don't see us that way and admire what we do in the fight for freedom. I think we should be a little more isolationistic and pull back a little in our involvement and then let them come crying to us for help as has often been the case in the past. Then maybe they will view us in a little different light.

When I'm traveling abroad I sometimes have the urge to wear a Canadian flag, just so as not to draw attention to the fact that I am an American, but I don't do it for a very important reason: I feel that it is my duty to show the people I meet that not all Americans are Bush-loving, ignorant, arrogant, blind-patriots. I get asked the same question over and over again while I'm traveling: "Why did you elect that idiot" I DIDN'T! "Why did you guys invade Iraq" I DIDN'T! "How come your president thumbs his nose at the U.N?"
I am a liberal, but I love our country for its potential. Think about what amazing things we could do in the world if only we elected responsible people to be our leaders! We could halt global warming, we could feed every starving person in the world, we could build stronger communities and end mindless commercialism ... I could go on and on. I think the liberals you're referring to are the ones that are speaking out against Bush's policies. I don't hate the country in and of itself, but I sure as hell hate the regime that we are currently suffering under.

Why do you think that whether or not the candidates liked America had anything to do with them getting elected? Do you elect your leaders based on whether or not they like France? We never said all countries hate America. We said it will take years to rebuild our relationships with countries in Europe and around the world after the Iraq fiasco.

Because Right wing administrations force democracy on other nations through war and that in in total disregard for the Constitution of the US. Liberal minded administrations do it through diplomacy. Liberals are use more thought for diplomacy and the right wants throw over other countries by force, like Vietnam, Iraq 1 & 2 which were both started by republicans.

WE CONSERVATIVES IN EUROPE HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ONES IN AMERICA !!!
ALSO AMERICAN CHRISTIANS DO NOT SHARE "MY" CHRISTIAN FAITH !!!
I am just lucky that our conservatives can bring a bit Bush to more reason compared to left wing governements would ideologically oppose him. Opposing him is really ok for me except that it makes the world the worst possible. This regards especially peace and the environment, two of the most crucial issues.
ITS NOT BEEING PRO-AMERICAN... ITS TRYING TO LIMIT THE DAMAGES FROM THE BULLIES...
And yes, we don´t like your country the way it is NOW (which leaves room for change)
The republicans would largely in Europe be what we classify as extreme-right.

You question is spurious.
World opinion of the United States is at an all time low.
Or, did you think the French voted specifically for the candidate with the "pro-US" platform?
You dont need to be a liberal to see what is going on with the world...or...wait a minute...are you suggesting that only liberals read the news and educate themselves??
Oh!!! Well, done my man, well done.. :)

I've done plenty of traveling and have found very few who HATE America, they are just...disappointed. Ever get that "I'm not mad, honey, I'm just really disappointed" speech from your parents? Yeah, that's what traveling abroad can feel like, sometimes.
They're still glad to see us spend our money there, though...So any guilt tripping doesn't last too long. =P

You need to do a little travel. When I am in Europe, I like to minimize attention being drawn to my being an America. Eropeans rather think of us as ignorant, boisterous, and blood thirsty, haplessly ignorant of others.

I think you should read more international news papers.
then you would find that the vast percentage of countries, don't like us, our way of life, the way we treat our women, and the way we treat them.
BTW so on...and so on....aren't counties. Name'em if you know'em.
Never forget you are an infidel too. period.
Muslims, Jews, and even Russia is now speaking out against us.
