Not really - it covers your face like a mask and prevents natural color and healthy skin development. If you keep your face clean and use sunscreen your face will have a lovely healthy glow and that is better than any make up can ever offer.

It all depends on how you put it on, and whether or not you really feel you need it. The whole purpose of foundation is to even out your skin tone. If you have a pretty even tone already (no big blemishes, blotches, or spots), you don’t need foundation at all!
If you DO want it, you need the right formulation for your skin type. BareMinerals works on all skin types and covers well. It’s also GOOD for your skin, unlike liquid, cream, or non-mineral powders that can clog your pores. You also need to make sure you have the right shade – too light and you will look chalky, too dark and you will look like you are wearing a mask. Again, BareMinerals is quite forgiving in this area and most women can easily find their shade with minimal fuss.
I say hold off on the foundation for now – I don’t know how old you are, but if your mom thinks you are too young, you probably are. Unless you are incredibly prone to acne, or have a condition such as rosacea, most teenagers still have that baby-smooth tone to their skin anyway. I didn’t start wearing foundation until I was 19 or 20.

Yes! foundation does make your skin look better, but only when it is blended properly and compliments your skin tone. When u r allowed to wear make-up, visit a local MAC Cosmetics store. They will match a foundation that will even your skin tone (especially if u have blemishes) and make your skin glow. I just brought some foundation from their that contains minerals, so it gives my skin a healthy glow, and because MAC is a better quality make-up it doesn't make u look like u r wearing a mask, sometimes people can't even tell I'm wearing make-up, and thats what u want when u start wearing make-up. Your goal should be to look "natural" and not "made-up" and to have even-looking, clear skin. Always have a good morning and evening cleansing routine to remove all make-up, especially before working out or going to bed, to avoid break outs and dull looking skin in the morning. Make-up is fun to wear, but if your mom won't let u wear it its probably a decent reason. There are still other things u can do like wearing a tinted moisturizer, lip gloss, to make it appear u may have on make-up eventhough u don't. It sounds like ur young, so don't sweat not being able to wear make-up! U will have plenty of time for that, and trust me, when u do start wearing make-up, there will be days u don't even want to put it on. Just listen 2 your mom, she knows whats best for you. And if u respect what she says, she will see that u r responsible and she may start letting you wear make-up sooner than u think. I hope this helped u, sorry it was so long, I tend to do that once I get started talking about something. Holla at ya girl!!!!!!!!

Yes foundation looks good when applied properly, but do you really want to wear a mask and hide your face? Don't hide yourself, show the real you! Because people will like you more if they have the REAL you!
If you've got good skin then theres no point in wearing it. Love the skin your already in!
If you have bad skin then don't make your skin worse by caking foundation on it, because foundation can clog pores, cause spots and irritate and damage the skin. So under all that foundation you wear to make yourself pretty, your proper skin gets worse and worse...let your skin breath!
You could go and treat your skin, have it pampered, like have a home facial or go and get a facial out, I'm sure your mum would be more happier with that, I think you're Mum probably just likes you the way you are. Wear good products like moistursers, toners, exfoliate and cleanse your skin! Treat your skin instead!
Natural beauty is best! ;) Don't hide yourself!
Good luck! :)

It all depends on what type of skin you have. If you have blotchy skin or anything like that then foundation will just help to smooth it out giving you the apperance of perfect skin if you put on the right amount. It you abuse the amount then you could end up with a face that looks like you are wearing foundation. It sounds weird but the whole goal of foundation is to make it look as though you have nothing on your face and have perfect skin. If you have good skin then you dont need to waste the time to wear it then.

Well, I think that it really depends on WHICH type of foundation it is and HOW you apply it. I'm gonna give you some information and advice about foundation and you decide whether it's right for you or not =).
**There are different types of foundation, here are the core types of foundation**
* Liquid Foundation
* Cream Foundation
*Powder Foundation
**Here's some info about each**
* Liquid: Liquid foundation is an oil or water based type of foundation that comes in a spray can container. This is the best foundation to use if u have naturally clear skin, but discolored skin. This is the easiest to apply and best if you have oily skin.
* Cream: Cream foundation is a cream based foundation that usually comes in a stick or a compact. This is the best foundation if you have blemishes or zits. This easy to apply but can seem caked if over used. This is best if you have blemishes and discoloration.
* Powder: Powder foundation is a talc based foundation that usually comes in a compact form. This is the best foundation if you are short of time. This is the fastest to apply but can be extremely messy and tacky. This is best if you need a quick way to coverup.
**Here are some videos that show how to apply it**

**Here are some awesome brands to use**
* Revlon
* Avon
* Bare Essentials
* Smash Box
* Vincent Longo
* Laura Mercier

* Stila
Hope this helped!!

i also use a mineral powder foundation (from neutrogena)...very natural looking. but, when i used to wear regular foundation...my skin looked better when i actually had it on, but if i wore it for a few weeks, whenever i DIDN't wear it, my skin didn't look nearly as good as it did before i started wearing it. (did that make any sense at all?)

It can make your skin appear smoother and more equal in color tone. I recommend Bare Essentuals brush on. It's only minerals, so you can sleep in it, most anything. It will not hurt your skin and you can easily adjust how much you put on. Sometimes I wear nothing but the barest brush of foundation.

it does make your skin look better but it's not necessarily good for it
depends on how old you are.. you dont NEED it in order to look good.. I know I wouldn't really let my children wear it because it's just not the time there are better things to focus on
