Yes, Republicans have shown themselves to be just as irresponsible as Dems on spending. Even more than Democrats since Clinton was the first to balance budget since Kennedy. And the Repubs have been just as crooked and immoral as any politicians.

Yes, now I trust nobody in politics.

They actually have, I've gotten more "conservative", but I'm not sure it has to do with the Bush administration as much as it does my getting more settled, becoming more successful, having a family, etc. I have always been a registered Democrat, but have voted for the best candidate. I voted for Clinton both times, voted for Bush the first time, and voted third party the last election (because I couldn't stand Kerry and certainly wanted to move from Bush).

When I say I've gotten more conservative I say so in the sense that I believe more in individual responsibility and less in government oversight and programs. I certainly see a role of the government, but see more at the local level. I am also more open to free trade and less inclined to think a minimum wage increase will do anything, especially in a free market. In the end, I believe I still find more alignment with the DNP, but will stick with voting for the best person, not the party.

My political views haven't changed much over the last 7 years. (I am 62 and set in my views) But my view of politics has changed. I was a lot more accepting of different views and respectful of politicians and government officials. I am becoming antagonistic against all politicians. This is caused not only by this administration but the political campaigns that are based on the other guy than what can I do for the country.

I haven't changed but it seams most of the so called Conservative sell-outs have. I believe they would surrender the past 30 years of Conservatism just to continue selling the war in Iraq. I supported it from the beginning even though it was at the wrong time. Then is was mishandle and that's why it's a catastrophe. Then came the moralizing with gay marriage which goes against everything Conservatives have been saying about (government) not getting involved and tax breaks for the rich and inheritance which goes against true capitalism. Now I'm a Libertarian and a member of the Constitution party.

No. They have only been reinforced by the blatant abuses of the Bush White House.

As much as I despise the Democrats, at least they are attempting to turn the tide against the massive criminal behavior of those who support King George the Second.

It's time to dethrone Bush. His arrogance only proves how perverted reactionary and conservative minds really are.

My political beliefs have only grown stronger as this travesty of a president brings our country down.
Raised as a conservative Republican I am now a conservative Democrat and yes there is such a thing.

I can't stand the sleaziness of the Republican party and their minions they taint eveything they touch and they offend me from their Ted Haggards to their Tom Delays to their Dick Cheney's they sicken me all of them. Especially Ann Coulter, Rush Limbaugh and the Fox News Channel who are too smarmy to even realize they should be embarassed by their actions.

What happened to INTEGRITY as a Christian Conservative value that should have relevance in a democracy. What has happened to that?

Not really.

I knew Bush was an empty suit from day one, but I never knew HOW BAD this Administration would be in inflamming terrorism just to keep this country at war.

And blaming liberals for every.little.thing.

And whining about our Constititutional right to protest, as Matt does here.

No my political views have not changed and the current administration only reinforces that the elite in this country are as crazy as inbred aristocracy.

No, not really. Except that I realized that conservatism isn't as prevalent in the Republican party as I'd previously thought.

The Democrats' actions have firmly made up my mind, forevermore, that I will never vote for one, will never support one, will always oppose them. They are irresponsible and dangerous, as demonstrated by their choosing to gain political power instead of doing what is best for America.

I do not feel safe in my life, property or life with these neo-Democrats in power. They do not respect the Constitution.
