that's a hard question because deadbeat parents don't care about their kids & neglect them.. so that's abuse also

Being a deadbeat parent is abusive. It's abusive to the mother/father & the kid. But being in general an abusive parent is far worse. Emotional, physical, or sexual. They're all types of abuse that shouldn't even be going on in our country. And the worse part of that is not everyone believes the abused kid or spouse. When ur a deadbeat parent there is a chance that u r taken to justice but if ur an abusive parent u just don't know if u r or rn't. The most abuse part of being in an abusive enviroment is that you ask yourself everynite " Who'll believe me?"

They both suck
A deadbeat parent hurts emotionally and an abusive parent hurts physically. I would have to say a abusive parent is worse.

An abusive parent, a deadbeat one never is around and an abusive one never leaves, I'd rather be alone and broke than beaten all the time

A "deadbeat" parent could be having financial difficulties so that the behavior is not entirely intentional, and the arears can be caught up with, so a remedy is possible. Abuse is an intentional act and cannot be taken back. There is no comparison: abuse is much worse.

An abusive parent because they are around the child and the child will remember that as opposed to a deadbeat who is never around so there is nothing to remember.

An abusive parent. Abuse scars the victims mentally, emotionally, physically... many people work all their lives to overcome the abuse they endured as kids by their parents, and if affects ability to form healthy relationships, etc. While being without financial resources is difficult, it leaves nowhere near the the impact of mental, sexual and/or physical abuse on a person.
