This means a potato is going to grow out of there. Tomatos, squash, strawberries, blackberries and a large variety of plants flower. I doesn't neccesarily mean you'll have fruit.

Yes you should have a rather pretty smallish white flower with yellow stamen. If you are growing tomatoes you will notice there is a similarity in the flowers, this is because they are related (they are in the nightshade family).
As soon as the flowers have fallen and first sign of plants withering start digging for small new spuds, leave in the ground for larger baking spuds.
Try not cooking with mint, fresh potatoes really do not need any cooking additives. Good eating.

yes potatoe plants will flower and will also make seeds.the seed pods look like tomatos and are poisonous.if a plant seeds it will stop growing so I always remove the flowers as soon as they appear to keep the plant growing strongly.
as to the two coloured flowers plants can do this from time to time.I have never heard of anyone eating the leaves so I would thing it is not a good idea.

Yes it is completely normal for potato plants to flower as you describe. They may get little green apple like fruits after the flowers. These are not edible.Potatoes and tomatoes are members of the same family of plants as deadly nightshade.Whilst the tubers(potatoes) are absolutely safe to eat, providing they are not green, the stems and leaves are not edible. With main crop potatoes it is the usual practise to let the plant bloom and the haulm to start to wither before harvesting the crop.

Yes, the flowers are the blooms and that mean that your potatoes are fixing to start making potatoes and if you pick off the flowers you will not have any potatoes and I would suggest not eating the flowers for that reason.

Yes potatos will flower and no don't eat the leaves, they're poisonous. Potatos are in the Nightshade family and are closely related to tomatos.
