I posted this question previously because I didn't want to get my period while on vacation. I'm going on vacation June 28-through July 7 and definitely don't want it then. I was told to skip my sugar pills and start a new pack to avoid this. That was when I thought I was going to get it during that week. Now I think I could get it a week earlier, the week prior to my vacation and I don't want it then either because I want to be able to "be" with my boyfriend before I leave for my trip since I won't see him. So my question is if I think I'm going to get my period the week earlier, can I start a new pack then and still not get my period the week after while I'm vacation? And will I get any spotting during my vacation if I do this? And how long does doing this prolong me from having my next period?

If you skip the sugar pills and go straight to a new pack then you wont get your period again until you start the next lot of sugar pills.

As for spotting... there is no answer for this one. You may but you may not.. its just something you have to hope doesn't happen.

If you have any more questions or are still not sure speak to your doctor or the people at the planned parenthood.. they will be able to explain it better to you. Thanks

This is exactly what you do. Start taking a new pack of pills instead of taking the sugar pills. This will ensure that you don't start your period the entire time you take the new pack of pills. When you come back from vacation, stop taking all pills and your period will begin within 2 days. A week later, start a brand new pack of pills and you'll be regular again without any damage to your body.

If you skip the placebo (sugar) pills and start a new pack of birth control pills, your period will be suppressed until you take the next set of placebo pills. However, there is no guarantee that you won't have some light spotting. For medical reasons, I took continuous birth control for some years, and I found that I had to take the placebo break occasionally because the spotting got out of control (meaning my system "wanted" to have a period). If you only do this one month, though, you may not experience any problems.

Just skip the sugar pills, and take the others continuously. You shouldn't have any bleeding until you start the sugar pills again. Some women do this for months on end so they don't have a period - I don't really agree with this practice, but medical opinion appears to be that it causes no harm.

I hope this helps, and that you have a wonderful holiday.

Listen...your question is so weird. If you get any answers, don't listen, because to stop something that is a natural part of your body's chemistry is just crazy!!! Have sex with your period. Change the week of your vacation. Don't have sex. There u go...3 choices that are smarter than anything anyone would suggest.

Starting a new pack should work. You won't get your next period until you take the sugar pill...You might spot a little, but it shouldn't be enough to worry about...Good luck!

i imagine it really is general. before i ended taking birth control, I used to have 2 classes in a unmarried month. I had my era on the perfect week of the pills, if that's sensible? some months I had them two times, & others basically one. It varies. I by no ability might want to decide why it got here about, inspite of the indisputable fact that it did

If you do this, you could still end up getting it during your vacation, you could breakthrough bleed at any time, and it could take MONTHS for you to get back on a regular cycle.

This sounds nasty but you can still "BE" with him if you are on your period, if he doesn't mind. Just shower together afterwards...

You may start new pack on 18th, so it will prevent you starting period, you continue the pills without break till you are comfortable to have yr period. It will be OK, good luck!
