It is covered in ragweed and dandelions. It's June. Is it too late? I live in Ontario. In the Eastern area.

I would just keep it mowed for now and wait until the fall. Fall and Spring are the best growth times for grass. Over-seeding with a grass that's recommended for your area will help then. You can start a fertilizer/weed control program in the fall that will help you next year. Any grass that you plant this time of year will have to be watered a lot, which is why we recommend waiting until the fall.

Scotts Turf Builder with weed control works best in my yard. I had the ugliest yard in the neighborhood a couple years ago and decided to use Scotts on it and now it is one of the nicest.

Caution this will make it grow like crazy as I am needing to purchase a new mower now. No problem.

It doesn't hurt to overseed the lawn either. Pick up a few bags of Canadian Tire grass seed (very inexpensive) and simply distribute it on the lawn as you would your fertilizer. Overseeding prevents the weeds from growing.

Worked for me (I'm also in Ontario). I do this twice a year.

it is never to late to start. there is 2 schools of thought. one is to till the yard over and start a new. I don't like that one. like someone wrote scotts make very good stuff. but this timme of year youwill need to water a 1" every other day after you weed and feed.
