I always hear about wanting to have the say in a child they donated sperm to, but why don;t I ever hear about men putiing pressure on the medical community to come up with a way to make them pregnant? Why only concerned with it while in a woman's body? If you want equal rights, why not demand that science find a way for you to incubate a baby? Or how about, having the conversation with the woman BEFORE you get her pregnant, and find out what she would do? That's what I did with my fiance...so no surprises. So, what's up guys? Where is your outrage over how UNFAIR it is that women get to be pregnant, and get to endure child birth?

steelegrave, a father is born everytime a child is born. At least I wish that were true. Just because someone has sex with a woman does NOT make them capable of making that decision for the woman. And i am sorry if you didn;t realize that several 'fathers' are exac;lty that...SPERM DONORS. I am glad you took care of yours...perhaps you should direct your anger at the men who DON'T

There is a case in the Michigan courts now – A man and a woman were in a relationship, having unprotected sex because she told him she had been “fixed”. She ended up getting pregnant. The man has filed suit to free him from any financial obligations caused by this un-wanted pregnancy and her deception.
Not that this answers question, but it's about time men started standing their ground on issues like "this"

think of approximately this, if the father gets the youngster. a million. probably the father lives in a similar city so that's totally probably she would be able to could see the youngster in passing or hear relating to the youngster from pals and kinfolk inflicting her discomfort and suffering 2. it would pass away her in charge for baby help to a baby she in no way needed in the 1st place inflicting her to pass to reformatory if she would be able to no longer have adequate money baby help. 3. it would placed the youngster in one make certain domicile. Oh wait those are all issues that take place to a guy and baby while a woman keeps a baby he would not prefer something to do with. Yeah it extremely is tousled... Uhh Christy who ever we factor our finger at because of fact the father gets caught paying the youngster help till he has adequate money for a DNA attempt which VERY high priced. maximum human beings can no longer have adequate money it and coverage would not cover it. So what we are saying is going in courtroom and it is not suitable if the toddler is pink and the mother and skill dad are the two green. So adult males can deny all they like yet as far because of fact the regulation is worried it extremely is their baby because of fact we are saying it extremely is. Britt in view that marriage constitutes equivalent rights and household initiatives (with rights comes household initiatives) fathers who're no longer married to their infants mom at theory or start could have not got any criminal precise or accountability to that youngster or mom? No sorry if a father is estimated to pay baby help then he could be recognised because of fact the subsequent obtainable criminal father or mom for stated baby. mutually as a fetus is in our womb something and each thing that pertains to stated fetus is our call (wisely) while it leaves the the womb the organic and organic fathers whether married or no longer could have some rights. think of approximately this if she had saved the toddler then ran off in some days leaving the toddler with the father she could come back TEN years down the line and regain complete and complete custody of that youngster, and that occurs greater desirable than you think of. It has basically been some weeks and he's in fact being informed too undesirable so unhappy greater efficient success next time.

For whatever reason, women bear children. This is how it is, and who are we to change it. This is what evolution has given us, and all other life on this planet. To suggest that men should someone be modified so that they can become pregnant is really quite silly. It wouldn't give us more or less of a say on how we should treat and respect life. It's not that people are concerned about abortion being immoral because women bear children.
Or how about, having the conversation with the woman BEFORE you get her pregnant, and find out what she would do?
I totally agree
... This is such a huge problem in society because I think our perception of sex is whack. It's viewed irresponsibly in most cases, and abortion is a result of that.

As I look at the responses, I wonder if the cause for "sperm donors" is the fault of the man or the woman. Have alot of men turned out to be pieces cr@p? Yes... But...why would a woman have anything to do with a "man" like that. The lack of responsibility lands "equally" on both sides. Unfair??? Sorry, you might as well biatch about having mammary glands...

I had an ultrasound yesterday. ABSOLUTELY TRUE!!!
I saw the little picture and everything! (Not of a baby, of course. My heart. Kinda gross, actually; I heard it too.) When the technician was done, I told her she better not tell me I was pregnant, and she gave a little (probably forced, polite) laugh. I'm sure she hears that one ten times a week.
(Nothing serious. Just a mid-life check up, for a man who has seriously neglected his health for years and has finally decided to make changes.)
I'm maxed out on this topic for now - see my question from earlier today. (I guess my general reaction is that neither science nor legislation can, or should, erase the differences between men and women. Equal does not mean identical. We're not one-one millionth as smart as we need to be to undertake the task of making us 100% interchangeable.) But I hope I was still able to contribute. :)

Donated their sperm to? Thats your take on what it is to be a father? That attitude is exactly why MTV is raising our kids instead of parents. Let me tell ya sweetheart I'm a father of a 2-year old and have one due in August and I take supreme offense to being minimalized in my children's lives to sperm donor. How about we talk about the fathers roll after birth or how about caring for and nurturing mom and baby while in gestation? How about we take a look at what happens to kids who grow-up without a Dad, what are their lives like? That comment is extremely insulting. So insulting that any decent man reading your rant would ignore the rest.

What on earth are you talking about? There is no outrage because guys don't WANT to get pregnant. Why would we? The last I heard men were not clamoring for equal rights. Women were (and rightfully so in many cases). So what are you talking about?

I agree - in every sexual relationship I've ever had, I've initiated that conversation BEFORE the sex took place, just so the guy knew what my position was before there was any possibility of conception.
There's no need for a guy to be shocked when he gets a woman pregnant and she wants to have an abortion. If you're close enough with someone to have sex with them, you're close enough with them to have that conversation BEFORE having sex with them.

Men cannot carry children - period. It just ain't gonna' happen. Both parties are responsible for creating the child regardless of whether they talk about it first or just dive right in and hope for the best.

Good question! It seems to me that the guys have all the fun when it comes to babymaking. All they have to do is donate the sperm and nothing more, yet they have the nerve to try to tell women what they should do with their own bodies.
