I'm roughly 35 weeks pregnant or so. I've gone through all the prenatal testing needed up to this point with the exception of Amnio since the doctor said it's unnecessary for me. I've stated in another question in the past that I've had a huge amount of weight gain - near 60 pounds now.

I'm going to the doctor in a couple hours but real curious about this thirst.... The last few days, no matter what I drink, I cannot quench my thirst. I keep trying to drink more and more but all it's doing is sending me to the bathroom even more. My mouth feels so dry and icky!

I've heard that between my weight gain and the thirst problem there is a possibility of diabetes. Has anyone had their gestational diabetes tests come up negative but still had it?

I have plenty of concerns I'll be talking to my doctor about today - this as well as other issues. I just want to know what others have experienced.

you definetly need to tell the dr, you may developed gestational diabites now. just because the gd test came out negative when you took the test several weeks ago, doent mean that you are necessary out of the woods for the remainder of the pregnancy.

I would definitely bring this up to the doctor's today when you go. Having unquenchable thirst is not a good sign. However you may just be thirsty. Who knows...but I'm sure the doctors will definitely want to check for diabetes, when I was 9 weeks pregnant insatiable thirst was one of the things that I went into the ER for and ended up leaving with diabetes type 1. (Not going to be your case, but it could be gestational)

Well if it helps any I have a totally unsatisfied thirst myself eating ice chips seems to help a little I do not have gd but you could have developed it after the testing was complete if it is serious they can tell by you're urine but I think that is only when it gets really bad good luck it's almost over!!

Have your doctor test you for gestational diabetes. An unquenchable thirst and frequent urination are cardinal signs of diabetes.

If your GD test came back negative, then its negative. In late pregnancy, its very common just to be insatiably thirsty, for no apparent reason.

I think this is a symptom of diabetes. Definitely ask your doctor!

Hope it all turns out okay! Keep us posted.
