too many of us have a sense of entitlement to our basic freedoms and do not realize or even think about the sacrifices that are made. those of you who say that soldiers know what they are getting into...yes, they do, however, we should be grateful for their willingness to fight for us. to all who serve, have served, or have family serving...thank you and GOD BLESS YOU!!!

It sounds more to me that you have a feeling of entitlement. Who are you to ask others to feel obligated to thank someone. When a person volunteers for duty they should do so for their own reasons and not for the praise others will give. It is the same with charity. If you donate expecting acclaim you are doing it for all of the wrong reasons. I will thank you in advance for keeping your "shoulds" to yourself.
