Does Prince the music artist write his own songs?

I was just wondering were all of his songs written by him or does someone write them for him and he just sings them.

absolutely and he plays all of the instruments and helps with the mixing too, he does it all. occasionally he will cover someone else's song, but he still does an awesome job arranging it to make it sound like his

He writes all his own stuff, he also writes for many other people under pen names such as Joey Coco and others.

There was a rumour around about eight years ago that he could stop writing and even recording and with all the stuff he has stashed in the Paisley Park vaults release I think it was five albums a year for the next century, how true that is I wouldn't like to say but the way Paisley Park is set up it wouldn't be a surprise.

He's also credited on songs for Kate Bush, Earth Wind & Fire, Celine Dion, Paula Abdul, Martika, Joe Cocker, Kid Creole, Madonna, Sheena Easton, and Kenny Rodgers among others

Prince does, because if you can't sing a song, it's probably not written by you. (I mean when your as famous as him) And Prince can sing!
