That's a very broad period you listed, so there's going to be a lot! The slang they used in the 30's for example is quite different than that of the 70's. Check out this website, it gives historical american slang, and should be really helpful. Good luck on your exam!

That's a long time period but I will try to give a few spreading over the years.
Hobo, Chicago typewriter, 23 skiddo, Hoover hogs,flappers, bathtub gin G-men ( 1920 to 1930's
Gat, gumshoe,****, Swing sound, New Deal, bucket a suds, zoot suits (1930-1940's)
Krauts ,Japs, GI's. Kilroy was here, Hut Sut Song, Major Bowes, loose lips sink ships, (1940-1950's)
Rockabilly, Rock and Roll, Elvis the Pelvis, The day the music died, reefer, maryjane, dope, rope, hemp.(1950-1960's)
Back in the shtt ( Viet Nam) Gooks, Hippies, summer of love, acid, H smack, pipe, bong, C, dropped out and tuned in, Groovy, out of sight, far out, surfs up, wipe-out(1960-1970's"
This is embarrassing that I can remember so many dumb things. These terms crossed over the decades but you get the general drift.
Wish I were more helpful.
