I am not that miserable, I'm just getting really impatient and tired of being pregnant!! I have had no signs of contractions, is that normal? And what can I do to make this baby come soon?

At this point your doctor visits should be rather frequent. He/She is best able to say what you need or decide if they want to induce labor. Other than that all you can do is wait. The baby will come. I know the feeling of being anxious, but it's almost over. Good luck with the new baby.

DO NOT DO CASTOR OIL!!! It can be very disgusting and you will have a lot of bowel movements. Not very appealing huh? It does help the baby come but, i had a friend who lost her child 2 weeks after she was born. They believe she was exposed to salmanila (i can't spell it). The doctor said this was either from the baby having a bm inside the womb or she got it when being delivered from her mother having a bm. It's just too risky. A lot of walking does help but don't rush this. It will probably happen sooner than you think anyway. Good luck and just enjoy the last few weeks because it's special and you will wish it wouldn't have went by so quickly when its all over!

Someone else asked a similar question so I am re-posting my answer.

Just let the baby come when he/she is ready. Go for walks and just try to relax. After your mucus plug falls out, it can still be weeks before labor starts. Is this your first pregnancy? You may go past the 40 weeks. Unless there is a serious medical issue, there is no need for you to rush anything. If your doctor feels that you and your baby are fine, you shouldn't be worried. I know the last few weeks feel unbearable, but you just have to let nature do it's job. Good luck!

your baby will come when it is ready, I don't mean to bust your bubble but if the Dr hasn't mentioned taking it you should just let it happen. While I hated being pregnant with a passion, when my water broke 4 months early and I had to go see MY child, believe me it is a lot different when it is your child, with breathing tubes, feeding tubes an IV's everywhere I broke down and wished I could have carried him till 45 weeks if that was all I had to do to keep him from suffering. While it is not fun it is what is best for your little angel.

Don't feel bad that you have no signs of contractions. I was dilated at 3 for over a week. When I finally went to the hospital, it was because I had a cramp in my leg. While I was waiting for them to check how dilated I was, I started to get contractions. Anywho, have to tried walking? Having sex? In the end, the baby will come when it wants to come. Good luck.

36 weeks is a bit early. My son was born at 36 weeks, and though nobody actually called him a "preemie," he has had some mild developmental delays. So relax, put your feet up, because soon you will be very busy--but hopefully in a month and not now. Now, if you get to week 40 and you want to hurry things along, have an orgasm--it stimulates the womb...

Nothing. I'm 36 weeks too and want him to come, but there's nothing I can do to make it happen any faster. It they're not ready, they're not ready. All you should be thinking about at this point is if you are taking care of yourself and everything is ready for the baby. Stop worrying about "when the time will come" because you are just going to drive yourself nuts. Focus on getting ready for the baby and taking care of yourself.

You need to let mother nature take it's course. The baby needs to gain weight the last 4 weeks so that it can regulate it's own body temperature outside of the womb. Don't rush it. You'll have your baby in your arms soon enough and for the rest of both your lives.

I know how you feel, unfortuantely, there is nothing you can do to speed up labor. You don't want to have the baby before 38 weeks, because there can be complications. If it's your first baby you will probably go past your due date- that is quite normal.

Good luck!
