AVG is a poor Anti virus program, the pro gives you 1% more detection & removal rate of the free AVG which only gives you 82% detection & removal rate.

In short only a fool would use it.

I'm not a fan of avg anyway....i know most of people will say use avg but it's not really that good.
According to AOL last test kaspersky antivirus is in the front with ability to detect 99.6%,f-secure come in second place of with 98.5% virus detection,bit defender in the third place,pc-cillin come after that with ability of 96%,and nod32 with 95.5%.
The difference between the normal version and pro from avg,that pro give you alittle more virus detection and it's of course not free.

AVG Free is crap!

Mostly noobs, the naive, the computer illiterate, and children use AVG Free. These types love AVG because they say it is easy to use and almost never bothers them with any pop-ups or warnings. Of course AVG Free never bothers them, it hardly ever finds any virus to warn them about!

In test,

etc. etc. etc, ad nauseam, AVG free fares poorly.

AVG has proven itself to be a miserable performer at best. Missing almost 20%, while trying to detect known malware, in some tests. Not to mention almost non-existent heuristic detection and infrequent "once-a day" updates.

AVG. = Average, at best!

There are much better free alternatives such as Avria Anti-Vir:

and Active Virus Shield:

The free AVG is free. The pro version is not.
