If people don't know what they're talking about I wish they wouldn't respond and give misinformation.

Robitussin and Mucinex both do help. They thin mucous throughout your body which makes for a friendlier "environment". It is important, as others have said to get the one with Guaifenesin.

This is the one you need:

Robitussin® Chest Congestion — The original Robitussin expectorant formula loosens and relieves chest congestion plus soothes a sore throat.
Active Ingredient (in each 5 mL tsp)
Guaifenesin, USP 100 mg ... Expectorant

If you use Mucinex it's the one in the blue box, just double check the ingredient labels.

You can also take the Equate (Walmart) brand called Tussin. I'm not sure which one, but one of them has only Guaifensin in it.
Good Luck!!

I'm planning to take it a week before I O until a week after I O, I figure it certainly can't hurt!!!

If you take Robitussin or Mucinex, make sure you do not take one with a decongestant. Those will actually help dry up the CM.

You need the kind of Robitussen that only has ONE active ingredient. I think it's called guiffasen or something really close to that.

Start taking it a few days before ovulation.

Mucinex can also be used instead-again, the kind with only ONE active ingredient.

Guaffenesin thins your mucus. A friend of mine had success with this. She took it a few days before she ovulated until a few days after.
