May of 1814. General Ross under the command of Rear Admiral George Cockburn. The troops were British Regulars sent from the Napoleon Campaign. tTey were not Canadian.

August 24, 1814. I believe they were British Troops stationed in the the Caribbean under the command of Major General Robert Ross and Rear Admiral George Cockburn, not Canadian.

Though as a Canadian, I know that most Canadians somehow got the idea that these troops were Canadian. To my knowledge, that's not the case, though I'd be happy to be proved wrong.

Never, the British troops that burned the White House were British Regulars, not Canadian volunteers.

The British burned the White House during the War of 1812. No other foreign nation (including Canada) has ever done it.
