Life is not just a bunch of different experiences. Life is everything. Think of it when we come into this world we start to die. We go through our course of life and we learn through experiences, emotions, want by watching others. Some of us learn enough just to get by. Others try to learn as much as they can. Some one quoted a song lyric. I'll give you a different quote. Everyone dies but not everyone truly lives.

Holy Moley! The noise from D Doc and Small are the as the lash beating that poor dead nag. Sorry fellas but listening to those answers gives one the impression that life is not just an experience rather it's the same experiences over and over again. One answer jumps to pontificate, "To know an experience, one must "experience". the other grinds us into the scientific bibble-babble, "Experience has four aspects, namely, the sensory inputs, thoughts, feelings and imagination." Oops, that came with sprinkles of existentialism, "perhaps even after the death of our body and who knows what kind of metaphysical". bla, bla, bla.
It's not the fault of the answerers, they tried to get that horse to trot, I see they have nice orange name tags and they're probably the big cheeses around YA-Phil . . . The error as I see it is in your question, mate. It's a trolls question. It's like asking what is fairy dust made of or how much is, a lot. There are always fish to take the bait I suppose. I'm considering a question just now, "Philosophy ?". I think it's got the hooks . . .

"JUST" being a keyword, obviously many want a better answer than "GEE is that all there IS?" An old song Lyric, relates..."What's it all about...ALFIE."
To know an experience, one must "experience". It seems apparent that LIFE would fall into the category then. One who has LIVED, most certainly has experienced various ascpects of being ALIVE.
Your Q, no offense, might more directly relate to the SUBSTANCE of the LIVING experience, and with all due respect we all have different interpretations and expectations of what that experience should be,,, often asking the inane Q..."WHY?" or "What if?"

In a way, yes..... to be alive is to experience. Experience has four aspects, namely, the sensory inputs, thoughts, feelings and imagination. Life gives experience, but what is important is what our take is from such experience, in terms of lasting and influencing ideas, views and opinions.... this take is not always the same even if the experience is repeated and more importantly, it is not the same for different persons. Experience provided by life and the take one has from it, shapes the person's real identity in terms of character and inclinations. In my view, life is the vehicle which develops our identity beyond the ancestral origin and the process of development never stops..... perhaps even after the death of our body and who knows what kind of metaphysical experience we continue to be exposed to after death?..... in that sense life could be just one phase of experience which is predominantly but not entirely physical.
Thanks for this thought provoking question.
