...here in America we have the right to be the biggest screw up we can be......
The politicians love the way the system works...it gives them direct power over peoples lives...
the only ones who want it to change is us...the people who foot the bill......

okay doa good point but as a social worker (retired i got sick of it) welfare/medicade they do not repeate DO NOT pay for contraception but they'll pay for the expencice of the baby get it they'll pay all the doctor bills the sonagrams the hospital bill etc but if your on medicade and can't afford contraception and don't want anymore children your screwed (get the pun there) so although i truly understand your point (and yes i know some pregnanat young girls i'd love to have strapped to the abortion table) it's not that easy it seems to me the government has a reason to keep the poor and under educated down what better way

Give the children up to whom? Government supported foster care agencies? Wouldn't that cost us twice as much? We'd be paying separately for the mother, the children, AND the foster care agencies.
Sounds like a dumb idea to me.

No i don't agree. But i think there are a limit to how many children one can receive money for. Like if you have one or ten the money you receive is the same.I think that would cut down on having so many children so they could draw more money.

Stop welfare, and the illegal immigration issue goes away. We would then have a cheap labor force created by Americans for Americans.

No.
But I would support mandatory parenting and sex education classes for welfare recipients with children.
In fact, the sex education (which would not be abstinence only) should also be mandatory for their older children.

Giving the gov't the permission to control who can have kids?
Yeah, there is a wonderful idea. It worked wonders when the Chinese did it!

NO - Our Government should not even attempt to go down that road.
However- we should make people on welfare pass a drug test AND work for their “free” money.

Hey, if you allow the government the authority to legislate our reproductive decisions, they'll soon be allowed to force people to have an abortion.
Better to keep the government out of it altogether and let it remain a private decision.
Thanks for the argument; I'll use it.

as much as I hate the idea of sterilizing someone, i would agree with the above answer.
but i like the latter as well. there are thousands of people who cannot have children, and I think adoption is much cheaper than freezing your eggs or sperm.
