If you already know all their perks/habits & can deal with them, can completely trust the person (won't steal your sh!t, etc) & can agree on things such as cleaning, rules, etc then I don't see why you couldn't live w/ a best friend.
I can guarantee I'd get along just fine living with mine. I've known her for 21 years so there would be serious issues if I didn't know that stuff by now. LOL!! The only reason we're not roommates is cause she's in the Navy & stationed halfway across the country from me =oÃ

If this friend is a person you spend a LOT of time with, it may be OK. If you are moving into a new place together, you know their personal habits and have an agreement about personal space and "off-time" from each other, you may be safe. Otherwise I cannot recommend living with friends. A lot of stuff will come out in a compressed environment. Cleanliness habits and MONEY are the biggest issues. If one or the other of you is moving into a pre-established apartment it will never be your space. Whoever lived there first will always regard the other as someone living in their house.

i know that people say you shouldn't live with close friends, but sometimes it can be better than living with a stranger.
i lived with three roommates that i didn't know -- two were best friends, one was a close friend. They all ganged up on me after awhile because they wanted another one of their friends to move into my room, so they basically forced me out.
One of the friends was especially b*tchy and she would f*ck with me really hard, but because the other two were her friends, when we'd have meetings with our RA they'd lie about stuff she did or didn't do.
Like she would lock me and my bf out of the apartment for a half house and think it was the funniest thing in the world to hold the doorknob so we couldn't get in.
When I got mad she'd say I was too sensitive.
I know that bf's can be annoying, but that was so hurtful, that I would rather deal with a close friend leaving dirty clothes somewhere than strangers booting me out.

No I tried that, and we weren't friends. I was so fed up with her, i didn't even ask her to be in my wedding....we are friends again, but it took awhile.
Choose somebody who works different hours, so you have some alone time. Choose somebody who can get along with your friends. Don't move in with anybody who's current home youv'e never been to. Make sure you know if you can live with their cleaning habits. And choose somebody who is mature enough to know better than to bring groups of people over while you're sleeping.

I tried being roomates with a best friend when i was young... it almost ended in a gun battle (seriously), no matter who you chose to "room" with, set up rules and alot of them, everything from groceries, phone bill, time other "friends" are allowed to come over, is boyfriend allowed to spend the night?, who takes out the trash etc etc, it may seem small, but it really matters!!
good luck
