nothing personal but, if you can sum up World War II in one paragraph then you are not doing any justice to the people who lost their lives in it. that was a terrible war that should never be looked at lightly. take some time and do the work put some actual effort into it and then you will have your assignment done. and you might actually learn some respect for the brave people who lost their lives to that terrible war.

First - you get 25 points for boldness a/k/a a lot of nerve. Another 10 for being so obvious and unapologetic about it. 1. Three causes - Domination. Revenge for the terms of the Treaty of Versailles. Personal vanity on the part of the leaders of the Axis powers. 2. Axis - Germany, Italy, Japan and their "satellites", i.e. Austria. Allies - USA, Great Britain, USSR and their "satellites", i.e. Canada. Also, Free French, Poland and others from countries occupied by the Axis powers. 3. The Battle of the Coral Sea and Midway in the Pacific and the Battle of the Bulge in Europe. It is disingenuous to narrow this down. 4. Europe was sliced in pieces, the Middle East was divvied up by a bunch of idiots who knew nothing about it, Japan, after being initially devastated, was reincarnated by us into a democracy that still seems to be working, the USA just kept on plugging along - at a much faster pace. Most of our soldiers had never left the county they were born in much less been overseas. Germany, also after having been devastated, was horrid on the Soviet side, but has rebounded magnificently, again with our help.

Here's an outline:

"World War II was caused by the aggressive actions of the Axis powers (Germany, Italy, and Japan) who were unhappy with their "place" in the world order. They won many initial victories, and conquered much of Europe and Asia, before being defeated by the Allied powers (the UK, USA, and USSR). But much of Europe was destroyed, which led to (1) the ending of the European Colonial Age and (2) the emergence of the US and USSR as the two world 'super powers" who competed for world domination in the "Cold War" era that followed the war.
