When you start nursing on one side the other side has "let down" as well. It is more noticeable on the side that you son is not nursing on because it is not being expelled right away. Perfectly normal.

Your breast is just "letting down" the milk. THey usually both do this at the same time unless you get really good at it and then you can control your breasts a little bit more. Mine always let down together... You probably didn't feel this at first because you had so much milk already in the breast ready to go that it didn't need to "let down." But at 6 weeks your supply is more regulated and as your nursing, the milk actually comes down once the baby starts sucking.

I had an over active let down which means whichever boob wasn't being used, leaked when the milk let down. in case that happens, you'll know why!

What you are probably experiencing is commonly referred to as the letdown reflex.... this happens when the milk flows from the glands and into the ducts. You may not feel it as strongly on the side your child is nursing on because he is in the process of emptying it. If you are in an situation which requires you to be away from the baby sometimes your milk will letdown on its own, but it is generally caused by the baby's suckling. Although, some moms have found that even the mere thought of nursing would make their milk letdown. You are probably just noticing this sensation because you are now producing a significant amount of milk.

Well done on choosing to nurse your baby, and keep up the good work. If you have any other questions or concerns you can contact your local La Leche League or visit their website at http://www.lalecheleague.org/resources.html?m=0.

Best of luck to you and your little one.

That feeling is definitly the let down. Milk is ready to come out. Be careful, if you feel that feeling in public when you see a baby, or hear one cry, or even if it's your own child. Milk will start coming out baby latched on or not. It can be quite funny, but it has happened to me. Make sure you wear breast pads incase that happens.

It is probably just your milk coming into your other breast, getting ready for the baby to feed from that side.

Thats your milk coming down, just make sure if you dont switch sides when you are feeding that the next feed you start on that side or pump it out. If not it can become pretty painful...

I'm not quite sure what weird feeling you're talking about.
It sounds like it could possibly be your letdown. When your milk flows into your breasts. ???

That's the let down. It's the unused breast letting you know that it's ready for action!

Enjoy-
