Yeah he's the most hated but his jersey is still #1 because with Kobe a high % of people who don't love him hate him whereas most other players who aren't loved aren't hated either which creates a situation where Kobe may have 20 million fans in a country and someone else might only have 15 million but Kobe will also have 10 million haters where the other guy might only have 100,000.

first of all, hes not the most hated guy in sports. second the only reason that his jersey sales are #1 is because he changed his number. so every one has to go out and get a new one, the same thing happens after an all star changes teams

Simply put, Kobe is a player that people love to hate. They know he's better than the best player on their favorite team; therefore, they try to make him out to be less than he is. He is the best individual in the game right now, and will without a doubt go down as one of the top 50 players of all time. It just makes someone out to look like a fool to hate a player, because they know they're the best. It would be one thing to hate Rasheed Wallace, who although he is a good player, elbows, whines, and argues every call. Don't hate Kobe Bryant because you know when he played for the Lakers with Shaq you had endless support for him.

Uhhh dude I think Kobe is at least number 3 as the most hated in sports after Barry Bonds and Alex Rodriguez.

He can be the most hated guy but he is the most loved guy. In China everyone loves Kobe as i do. Kobe is the best.

Kobe is not the most hated guy in sports and I wish people would stop saying that. He is selfish, but not hated. If he is the most hated person in sport, then where do you put the Pacman Jones of football, or the Barry Bonds of baseball? Kobe is one of the most talented players in the league and if he would learn to make those who play around him better, can contest for the NBA Championship on a regular basis.

Because their have been lots of fans over the years, who are committed Laker fans from the Kareem era, and the Shaq era. So those committed fans only have one jersey to buy now, and thats Kobe, since his the solo star of Lakers. Players like Yao have to share the rockets fans with Tmac. Nash shares with Amare and Marion. Kobe....Kobe keeps them all to himself.

He isn't the most hated ... people dont like him because he is the best player in the NBA and the fact they people love Shaq and were forced to not like Bryant because Shaq didn't. His jersey is the #1 jersey because he is the best player in the league, hands down.

Because he is also the most loved guy in sports. It depends which side of the fence you're on, but sometimes a player or team comes along that people either love or hate. He polarizes people because of how good he is, and fans of other teams are jealous of him, wishing they had a player like him on their team...so they choose to hate him out of jealousy and fear. He is obviously a great force in the league and the best talent in the NBA in my opinion.
