It arose from ignorance of other races, but it is still likely that this prejudice is connected to the fact that European cultures underwent the particular artistic, scientific, industrial revolutions (also social, agricultural, etc.) that are connected to modern culture, before other cultures did.

These advancements would chain react to lend great power to the cultures that developed them, and people were still generally uneducated about other cultures, and so, felt able to look down at those peoples. But, these advancements were of course going to happen to somebody first, and it happened in Europe first merely because of a coincidence of available resources.

Only ignorance could allow Eurocentric people to assume that these refinements were due to some inherent kind of superiority, like a superior mental capacity. This attitude also served to rationalize the mistreatment of members of less powerful cultures. There's no doubt that people of other races, if presented with the same resources and challenges, would likely have made these same advancements.

White Supremacy is an
historically based, institutionally perpetuated system of exploitation and
oppression of continents, nations, and peoples of color by white peoples
and nations of the European continent, for the purpose of maintaining and
defending a system of wealth, power, and privilege.
The first European settlers called themselves English, Irish,
German, French, Dutch, etc. -- not white. Over half of those who came in
the early colonial period were servants. By 1760 the population reached
about two million, of whom 400,000 were enslaved Africans. An elite of
planters developed in the southern colonies. In Virginia, for example, 50
rich white families held the reins of power but were vastly outnumbered by
non-whites. In the Carolinas, 25,000 whites faced 40,000 Black slaves and
60,000 indigenous peoples in the area. Class lines hardened as the
distinction between rich and poor became sharper. The problem of control
loomed large and fear of revolt from below grew.
There had been slave revolts from the beginning but elite whites
feared even more that discontented whites -- servants, tenant farmers, the
urban poor, the property-less, soldiers and sailors -- would join Black
slaves to overthrow the existing order. As early as 1663, indentured white
servants and Black slaves in Virginia had formed a conspiracy to rebel and
gain their freedom. In 1676 came Bacon's Rebellion by white frontiersmen
and servants alongside Black slaves. The rebellion shook up Virginia's
planter elite. Many other rebellions followed, from South Carolina to New
York. The main fear of elite whites everywhere was a class fear.

that's exciting that you in ordinary words reported women human beings the following. because honest women human beings have continually been considered as prettier. human beings want accountable the media for this, yet even again in shakespeares time his performs make it clean that on the time honest epidermis and hair in a lady replaced into considered extra pleasing. there replaced into no "media" again then. Even extra again centuries beforehand the Egyptians equated fairness to lady attractiveness. Now keep in mind that "honest" is different in protecting with what race you're. inspite of the indisputable fact that in the course of the board for the time of heritage (and nevertheless in the present day) in all cultures global, fairer epidermis in women human beings is considered acceptable. Why? no one fairly knows, yet in case you want to get medical about it, Estrogen (the hormone that delivers women human beings each and every of the characteristics that makes them pleasing to adult adult males) has a tendency to make the exterior lighter. And if a lady is born with a marginally larger quantity of estrogen she no longer in ordinary words receives larger breasts and fuller hips, yet also lighter epidermis. therefore, you'll surmise that the reason lighter epidermis is considered extra pleasing in women human beings is because similar to with larger breasts and finished hips, adult males are biologically stressed out to be extra attracted to lighter epidermis besides. inspite of the indisputable fact that I disagree such as your fact of "white attractiveness". it would want to probably be "honest attractiveness" although fairness is many times considered acceptable in adult adult males's perspectives the point of fairness relies upon on the race. for sure a honest indian lady is going to be darker than a white lady. and considering that there are a decision of issues that contain what's proper, ordinary epidermis does no longer immediately equate to extra positive.

"Myth?" "Great civilizations?"

*sigh*

Historically, sub-Saharan Africa never made it out of the "stick" age, let alone the Stone Age, on its own. The "first people" may have their roots in Africa, but the story of geographically centered genetic mutation and drift is a lot more complicated than that. European cultures had steel, science, and drive. Few civilizations at the time they spread out into the rest of the world had anything remotely capable of standing against them.

No culture is bereft of beauty or without its notable achievements. But those of European descent really need to shed the PC-ingrained self-loathing and realize that while "supremacy" is a nebulous and ill-defined concept at best, we have much to be proud of and nothing to apologize for. Where we have been brutal, we have not been more brutal than was typical of the age, and where we have been enlightened . . . what other culture has anything like the Renaissance, the Enlightenment, the Industrial Revolution?

Stop apologizing.
