both my kids were in walkers and they both started walking write on track. I guess it depends on the kid. Its your own personal preference weather or not you want your child in a walker. If you don't want to put your child in a walker then just tell your parents that you would rather not put your child in it. She is your baby you do what you think is best. ~~ Best of luck!

That is NOT true. My oldest sister used a walker and she walked at 9 months. My step-son used a walker and was walking at 7 months. As long as you keep the walker out of the kitchen and away from any steps they are safe to use.

Very much true. My children took their first steps at a week before 8 months and 9 1/2 months WITHOUT a walker. It does not teach them to use the same muscles that will be required for walking. They learn to use different ones and it dealys them.

i don't feel real stongly either way. but, there's no question that the baby benefits from being able to get around without having to learn how to get around so, the motivation to learn to move on their own is not there. But, they are also given access to the world and that is a huge learning experience as well. I compromised with a little time in the walker.

I dont agree with that at all. My daughter was 4 months old when we got her a walker. She couldnt walk but it helped her to learn where her legs were. When then got her a bouncer at about 5 months and she LOVED it. She started crawling at 6 months and now at 7 months can pull herself up and is trying very very hard to walk...

does it matter if your daughter walks a month later she will be happier being mobile and the walker will give her more independance. just remember that she will be able to reach at things so move any hot drinks etc...

I dont think a walker would hurt your daughter....if she is showing signs that she want to move around I would let her!
but if you dont want a walker, my son had toys like this

they are stationary entertainment things, but it helps them build leg strength!

Let your daughter use a walker, she'll enjoy it and it won't slow her progress that much - if at all! Just keep it away from stairs...
