..his name is Emiliano Moretti, he played as a left back for Valencia, and he's very good, why isn't he ever called up??

well there's no good video of him, this is the only one available on youtube...but he's very good, don't you think he would be a useful? maybe even as a backup player?

I know Moretti since he was 18 and he was playing for the under 18 team of Fiorentina. One year later he played the seria A with pretty good results and also in 2001 he played 27 matches with Fiorentina.
In late 2002 he played a few matches with Modena and then he signed with Juventus (early 2003) but he played just 7-8 matches.
In the season 2003-4 he played 32 matchs with Bologna and at the end of the season he signed with Valencia.
I guess the reasons why it has been no longer called up to play for Italy are basically 2 :
1.- In his position are playing Grosso (and rarely Chiellini that's still under 21) but there is the alternative of Zambrotta that can cover both sides (right and left back).
2.- When Moretti went to play in Spain he was not in the major National team and then he has been kept out from the National circle since he has had less "visibility" than when he was playing the Italian serie A.

Frankly speaking me too, that I appreciated him while he was playing here in Italy, I had a bit forgot his name till I've read yr question (and sometimes, even not so often, I watch on the TV the Liga's matches...!!)

Who needs Moretti when you've got Grosso in the team, plus Giorgio Chiellini and Marco Motta waiting for their chance? Giorgio Chiellini is Italy's real future as a left-back!

i'm no longer an Italy fan they're way too lots of divers for my liking. Given a million/2 a great gamble they might somewhat be rolling on the floor protecting their legs to attempt and win something they are able to get, somewhat than enjoying cleanly and extremely triumphing on their very own reward (no longer basically their good performing skills) do no longer issue too lots they're going to slowly yet easily be further backtrack to earth with an almighty bump (with any luck) by utilizing a greater efficient team or a minimum of a good ref.(even regardless of the undeniable fact that they do have good defenders) Get the yellow enjoying cards rolling is all i'm able to assert, then we would see some administration and extremely delight in the sport greater. by utilizing the way its no longer alwyas the fouls that are seen and recored that are the worst, i desire they see how scheming they seem on the replays of them diving-and extremely getting something for it : |

Moretti underwent scans on the joint.

He has suffered a partial tear of the lateral ligament, according to the club's medical services.
