you already know it if you're asking. for the sake of earning these points, here's a short list:
1) he hasn't had a job in more than 3 months
2) he drinks during the day and watches soaps
3) he won't help at home because that's "woman work"
4) he likes to abuse small animals and laughs at retarded kids
5) you have ever caught him with anything up his butt
6) he has poor hygiene
7) he doesn't care if you ever orgasm
8) he's an ugly mofo
9) he wears tighty whiteys
10) you have ever caught him with a male (or female) prostitute
11) he has the clap
12) he smokes crack

Yeah, he's stringing you along. He might like you. But, u might not b a girl his mama would like to see. Right now, ur just a fun girl to hang with(mayb even booty call), but not serious enough to actually show off. But, it's only been four months, and if his idea of committment is seeing u whenever he can, and saying the L word but not backing it up, then I'd worry. Idk if he may have someone on the side, but I'm sure he shows ur pic to friends. He might mention u to family. If they're indian, or of the like, then they're traditional people. They want to see a classy girl who looks and acts the part. Wheras, a guy, wants a freak. Hence the term, lady in the streets, freak in the sheets. Right now, ur a freak to him, and if the L word gets him so tail, that's what he'll say. But taking u home to mom is totally different, because he's not strong enough to stop seeing u if family n friends disapprove, so y open up an un needed can of worms? If u really like the guy, give it a while. if u wanna marry him, then wait six months, if he still hasnt shown u to friends, ask him y(when I said six months, I meant two months from now). He'll only show u to family only when he feels ur marriage material and there's no turning back. Plus, he invited u to his b-day party as a formality and was relieved when u said no. He doesnt want to meet ur family either because it's too soon in his mind...give it time. dont rush him, or u may loose him.

If he's ever been in trouble with the law or doesn't hold a job for more than a few weeks or does drugs or uses alcohol too much. Has he ever mentioned shacking up?

what are your "deal breakers"
- dependancy on his parents for anything
- inability to find and keep a job
- expecting you to foot the bills while he buys himself "toys" - ex a new truck
- definately the I and me and not we.
