i so love you for asking this question!!!

the MEDIA think that skinny people are a bad influence on younger people but obese people are fine????? obesity is just as harmful if not more harmful than being skinny. also there is a difference between skinny and anorexic - my sister is very skinny but she eats LOADS she is always getting nasty comments made to her and she gets really really upset, she would love to be more curvey but she doesn't put on weight however much she eats - it's so unfair that people are so nasty to her! obesity is a big problem, it's very very dangerouse! it's so upsetting that so many mags etc say skinny people are not real women and only large girls with curves are real women - yes i'd love some curves, i have no boobs and im a uk size 8 but i can't help it and it's quite upsetting to think that so many people think i'm not a real woman because i have no curves!!!!

when will they see that obesity is killing so many people and is NOT a good influence on young children?

anorexia is an illness, just because your skinny doesn't mean your anorexic or you dont eat etc. it's so unfair to catogorise skinny people and anorexic people as the same!

if there is a pic in a mag of a skinny celeb in her bikini it's like "so and so has got dangerously thin" but if there's a fat person in her swim suit they say "you go girl, show those curves" - why is it a good thing to see a fat celeb in her swin suit when obesity is killing so many people and 1/4 of todders are classed as obese leading to heart problems and diabetes and many more seriouse problems!!!!

the only celebs that are liked are those who say "i have curves and i'm proud" but if say victoria beckham says "i'm thin and i'm proud" she'd get slated!!!!

Really?

So if you needed and operation and an obese person needed an operation, who do you think would get it? You of course.

The only reason the government is focusing on obesity is because of the health implications and the costs to the NHS.

Oh and people who are underweight also have future health implications, so a healthy balence is what is called for.

OK! So now we know you're skinny. Whoopie for you. I have to agree with "billy", eat some cake. You are obviously so nutrient deprived that you aren't thinking rational. The government is not against skinny people, but more so the obese people. Maybe you're dislexic as well as thin. You've read something wrong.

Are they?
Some of the media seems to be very anti-skinny, but I've seen no evidence the government has a problem with them.
To be honest I think they have other priorities right now!

I would actually say the opposite is true!
There are always promoting healthier eating and diets and exercise and have also banned smoking in most public places - at least those where people work!
