As a married couple - YES, I have to pull teeth to get my husband to listen to money issues. I pay the bills, do the shopping, and pretty much take care of the finances -EXCEPT when I want to make any changes (for the better), I have to try and get him to sit and go over the details which becomes very frustrating. He doesn't like paperwork, doesn't understand mortgages, advantages that can be had from refinancing at a lower percentage rate to save money, and even shorten the years to do it in- resulting in big bucks saved. Ex: we have a mtg rate of 8.5% we could have refi'd at 4.5% 2 yrs ago. He wouldn't even talk about it! Now rates are climbing (6% currently). We are losing so much money it kills me to think about it! Anytime you can save 2% or more on a mortage, you should consider refinancing to save money, and if you can pay in less yrs do it!
Any money issues I have with my own finances (like my own credit card or checking account) no stress at all. I manage it well- I don't spend above my means or what I can afford to pay back. Just because you can "charge" something, doesn't mean you can afford it.

If I said no it would be a big lie, and I'm not about to add any fuel to the fire. I struggle each day to avoid debt, and so far it looks like a tiny pin-light off in the distance. I avoid impulse buying, and the best way to do that is ignore completely what other people may have, so what if the neighbor has a new John Deere lawn tractor, I'll keep going with the ole Murray.

i think that people say money isn't everything when they have lots of it, but when you don't it could be very stressful because not only are you stressed out about having no money, but also whether are the bills going to get paid, am i going to be able to make it through the month. Rich people have no worries because they have lots of money to pay the bills and also are able to do extra thing that the ordinary do not.
