I am using a wireless signal from the main house to a garage apartment. The computer can receive the wireless signal, but my PS3 cannot. I would like to get the PS3 on the internet. The wireless router cannot be moved closer to the apartment and it is over 300 feet.

on the end where you are receiving the wireless if your computer has an ethernet port, do internet connection sharing to allow the ethernet port to use the wifi to gain net access then hook up a small hub (not a router) then u can plug in multiple device son the other end.

Most wireless routers also have ports that you can use to run a wire to a computer. You would need to run a Cat5 cable from one of those ports to your PS3. Limit of 300 feet (or 100 meters) for the cable.

You might also try relocating the router. Get a longer Cat5 cable, and move the router further from the cable/DSL modem so that it is half way between your main computer and the apartment. That may give you enough signal to run the PS3.

You could hard wire an access point to a closer location, even in the apartment. don't go over 300 feet without a hub or switch.

Most wireless routers can have at least one hard connection to them - just plug a cable into it and route it to wherever your ps3 is.

your ps3 should be able to hook up wirelessly. If it can't then the signal is too weak. You'll have to hardwire it to the modem with cat5 cable if it's a long run.
