I'm new to dishwashers...

What do people think is the best way to dry dishes in a dish washer?

Do you open the door a little once the cycle has finished to let the wet steam out or keep it closed for longer?

Does opening it mean there is more chance of runs & streaks on glasses?

Any good tips? Thanks!

If your machine has a drying cycle then it is designed to heat dry them. This really will reduce spots. (If a glass is super hot the water evaporates very quickly) Also if you live in a climate where it's warm right now you don't want the added heat in your home by leaving the door open. However,in the winter here when the air is very dry I sometimes leave it open just to get the moisture into the air, Hope this helps and congrats on not have to do dishes anymore!!!!

I have done this hundreds of times, just leave the dishwasher door cracked open for ventilation and they will dry faster

Always closed - surely its the heat that dries them anyhow!

Mind you, I leave it ajar during the day until I have refilled it.

you have to leave it shut. but to help with the streaks just add some white vinegar to the load it will leave them streak free....
