like having few friends to really "talk" to, without a quality boyfriend, and little family to also "talk" to. what can i gain from being in a situation like this?

You don't really have a shoulder to cry one, which can leavve you very stressed (as I'm sure you know), your carrying all the biurdons of life alone, which I don't think is healthy. The benifits.... you will have a very strong since of independance, you will know how to take care of yourself & not need to rely on others, & you don't have to consider the welfare/feelings/situations of others while making your own life altering choices.

It all depends,
If your unhappy with your current situation and you feel like in the end it is not going to work out, it is probably better to drop the boyfriend and move on. At the beginning it may be hard but you'll be happier with who you are.
Besides how long do you really plan to be alone. Most people I know that are in this situation always claim that they are single and going to party it up, enjoy life blah, blah blah.
Then the next thing you know (2-4 weeks) their in another relationship.
Just remember there are lots of fish in the sea.

HECK YES.
I've been single since like last April or so and I love it so much.
I can pretty much do whatever I want without wondering what my boyfriend is going to think, or how he'll react.
I can hang out with my guy friends without worrying about how my boyfriend is going to take it, and if he'll think I'm cheating or whatever.
I can spend all the time with my friends and family I want, and not have to worry about leaving my boyfriend out.
I can wear whatever I want and not worry about what I look like to my boyfriend, or what he thinks of me.
Just understand that you don't always need a guy to pull you through. Sure, if you fall in love, go for it, but if it's not worth it or you don't really like him that much, stay single. You can make it without a boyfriend, and it's so much fun too. =)

There is a few benefits, you never have to put make up on, you can walk around your apartment naked, you can be a slob and never take out the trash. You never have to listen to boring stories of all your friends problems. You can watch whatever TV shows you like, just do anything you wish when you want. Other than that, it sucks.

I think we all need to be sociable. We become introverted and start getting depressed. It's great to be able to talk to someone about your problems, your life goals, share a movie with someone. The only reason I could think of to want to be by yourself is you need personal time to persue a job or hobby. For example, if you play an instrument, you may be needing time to memorize music for a concert. If you are an athlete, you may need time to pactice. You may want to keep focused and to yourself. I don't think it's healthy on a regular basis though.

Well, at least you do know that this few friends of yours are true friends that you can really talk to. I personally prefer it that way rather than having a huge load of friends but none of them are true friends.
It's better to have more quality than quantity when it comes to friendship. At least it is in my opinion.

you dont have to anwser to any one but your self.
are you alone . or are you lonely.
i have been alone for along time. now .
been and a relationship . for alone time, but it s not going no where .it seams i am in this relation shipp by my self.
. i dont exist. may as well be alone. tired of begging for some attention. if you know what i mean.
