how to make kids responsible and intelligent?

Firstly make your kids do house-hold chores, like keeping their things in their proper place, making their own time-table for the next day, in general, make them independant.

To make them intelligent, buy them lots of books & make them computer-friendly. With computers give them what they usually want, lots of games, but at the same time give them projects in Word, Excel, BMP paintbrush, Powerpoint, etc.,
When they have a question, do not answer immediately. Ask them what their answer might be, to stimulate their brains.

Start with yourself, show them a good example they are just like a "sponge" catching up what is around them... have principles and stick to them.
One thing I hate about Indian culture is that the parents normally take so much care of the children as if they are helpless babies forever.. come on this overprotection is not healthy.. teach them the right things by setting good examples, but give them some space to take their on decisions (of course with comon sense) and let them fell that they are responsible for their actions and how this actions are going to effect their lifes. There is no such school like "real life experiences" and they will only learn by making their own mistakes and overcoming it.. Regards

Why should we listen to them???" As kids grow up they need u but if u r not taking care/not giving them proper guidance/time they will spend more time outside the house to seek pleasure.Some times it may lead to addiction of smoking/drinking. Always try to solve family problems at u r own level (househusband-wife).do not involve kids in any problem because they r not matured enough to face this things.If u force them to do something or try to release u r tension of any problem they lose their respect among parents.Finally behave in abnormal way, don't listen to parent's, less marks(grades) in school. Always teach things to u r kids in positive attitude & never do comparison among siblings or friends.Rather u could say things in different ways in presence of u r kids like,- "our kid can also do.... "! always improve confidence of u r kids instead of complaining about them. The way u react with u r kids, same way u will get replay from kids. Be frank with u r kids, try to know about their area of interest, watch tv programs together, let them know what is right n wrong, go for journey with u r kids, u will come to know about their different perspectives.That is the way of smart parenting.If family background is healthy kids are more successful in their every aspect of life - it can be study, career etc.Always be happy & face any difficulty with smile.
