Is the Stanley Cup made in the USA or Canada, and what company makes it? Is it made of silver or some other metal? Where can I find the history of this magnificent piece of art.... I was told the Super Bowl trophy is made by or for Tiffany's but there is no info on the Stanley Cup.

The original Stanley Cup was 19 cm (7.5 in) high and 29 cm (11.5 in) wide and was made by a London-based silversmith in 1892. Lord Stanley purchased the cup for about $50 as an award for the amateur ice hockey champions of Canada. Lord Stanley returned home to England in 1893, never having seen a Stanley Cup game and before his trophy was presented to a championship team.

The original was made in England, and is lcoked away at the Hall of Fame. The 2 Cups that are used were both manufactured in Toronto. That way they can have one on display at all times, and an extra to travel/PR stuff. Also in case one is busy getting ingraved and stuff. They alternate Cups each year between Hall of Fame for a year, and travel for a year.
