Most archeologists think it protects Khufu's pyramid, and there is a mortuary complex near it, but others think it could protect Khafre's.

none of them, it was built several decades prior to any of the Pyramids, It does not mean it is guarding any of the ones, including the one directly behind it. The Sphinx is truely a riddle. No one Knows why it was built that way, originally they know it wa a lions head, and re-carved, and that was during the time of the pyramnids being built, about 1,000 yrs after it was orignally constructed, at least thats the best guess.. but it's origins and purpose are so far, lost in time.

The Sphinx is much older than the pyramids. They were built well after it was abandoned as a temple.

The answer is Menkaure (there's lots of proof to date this structure- don;t let anyone tell you differently)

BTW, there is no such thing as "Amun Re's Pyramid" nor "Sakhmet's (Sekhmet) pyramid.
