These brains were in the drains when the Western Nations
picked them up.
Even today lot of brains are in drain.
In India there is no working atmosphere. The superiors were
behaving like feudal lords giving no respect to colleagues
working down below.Job opportunities were less and people
could not change jobs.Provincialism was at its peak. The
IT industries have given lot of scope to our brains.

When the brain looks for better opportunities and rewards it migrates to places that offer better scope. One cannot call it a brain drain. Job reservation is another factor to be reckoned with. Let us hope for a better India with social justice to all.

all underdeveloped countries have this phenomenon - brains export.
young people, who graduate from universities, try to emigrate to countries where they can earn better pay.
in some countries 70% of university graduates emigrate within one year after graduation.
the exception are countries that do not allow emigration - which could be called "nation wide prison systems" such as N. korea.
The "brains export" slows with the rise in the standard of living and better salaries for university graduates.

Ironically, an Indian friend of me was telling me how his father and uncles came here so their children would have more opportunity. A lot of them became IT professionals and now they are getting laid off because their jobs are being outsourced .... to India.

Welcome to the 'church of reason' we have a prepared a prison for your mind which you cannot see, smell or touch.
We were better overall in colonial times, we are less agressive now but we are far sicker in the head, it's infectious, and you have no immunities to it yet!
Aum, good Sir,
I wish you well with this problem

Not really.A couple of buckets of water taken out from a well does not make much of a difference to its reservoir.
